Are You Depressed?

It’s very normal for everyone to experience sadness or feeling down now and then. But when feeling down starts to affect your daily life and/or relationships it might be that something more serious is going on such as depression. Perhaps you’ve been through this before and you were able to manage it but this time it feels different or overwhelming. If so, it may be the time to meet with a therapist.

Below are some symptoms you may be experiencing if depression is a problem for you:

  • Loss of pleasure in activities that you used to enjoy or life in general
  • Change in appetite (increase or decrease)
  • Change in sleep patterns (increase or decrease)
  • Feeling “down” for an extended period of time, it could be weeks, months or years.
  • Feelings of hopelessness and/or worthlessness
  • Negative feelings about yourself, the world and/or the future
  • Reoccurring negative thoughts

There can be many physical symptoms as well, such as fatigue, digestive problems and/or headaches. You should consult with a doctor to rule out any medical problems.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or feel that you may be depressed contact me for a consultation where we can further discuss your situation and treatment options,
